Abstract

The aim of this study was to study changes in the concentration of cytokines in patients with purulent-inflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region, as well as the cytological picture of the focus of inflammation. The observations were based on a clinical and laboratory study of 60 patients with pyoinflammatory diseases of the maxillofacial region. According to the results of the study, it was revealed that, with purulent-inflammatory diseases (abscesses and phlegmon), an increase in the content of cytokines is observed, which is explained by the launch of a cascade of reactions in response to the presence of an antigen - pathogenic microflora. The amount of synthesized cytokines determines the nature of the course and the severity of the inflammatory process. The study of the cytological picture made it possible to identify the features of the cellular composition, as well as to assess the changes in the activity of phagocytosis, which are observed in different phases of the healing of a purulent wound.\n\n
