METHODOLOGICAL APPROACHES TO IMPROVEMENT WORKING WITH TEXTS BY SPECIALTY TEACHING A FOREIGN LANGUAGE
Abstract
Abstract: This article describes an example of a methodology for working with texts in the specialty at the stage when students first begin to study them in a foreign language. The purpose of creating the methodology is the assimilation by students of lexical, grammatical and speech material of texts in the specialty and the formation of reading skills with adequate pronunciation of unfamiliar original texts, the subject matter and lexico-grammatical material of which are similar to the elaborated texts, as well as the understanding of oral messages and the ability to maintain an elementary conversation on relevant topics. The described method of working with texts in the specialty contributes to mastering the sound articulation form and meaning of words and phrases, develops the ability to guess the meaning of unfamiliar phrases by context, develops the ability to correctly use words and phrases in a specific context on the studied topic, forms the skill of fluent reading and creates the ability to choose the required information when reading fluently. Mechanical methods of memorizing isolated lexical and grammatical material are excluded. The assimilation of both lexico-grammatical and speech material is carried out in the process of performing productive forms of work on meaningful material.
