ICT resources in chemistry: impact on the structure of education in Uzbekistan
Abstract
Abstract: The long-term experience of ICT-using to increase the competence' level and interest of students in the field of chemistry in the Republic of Uzbekistan has been generalized and analyzed. The experience is based on the results of the UZB4 project, implemented in accordance with an agreement between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea in 2006. The results indicate that the greatest positive impact the development and implementation of information resources on chemistry affects students from rural areas, and the least - in the metropolitan region and major cities. There is a certain correlation between the degree of accessibility of the content of chemical education, on the one hand, and the number of applicants for a chemical specialty in universities. In addition, the availability of IT educational resources increases the relative quantity of women among chemistry students.\n\n\nThus, a considerable statistic shows that increasing the availability of training resources on chemistry increases the interest in the chemical sciences and the degree of preparation in chemistry especially students from rural places, as well as shifts the gender ratio among students of chemistry towards women.
