Abstract

Abstract: The article examines the issue of the phenomenon of deonymization, provides an overview of the comparative analysis of materials of the Uzbek and English languages. Thus, the level of deonymization between lexical units of the Uzbek language is not as high as in English. After all, English is a language rich in myths, formed as a result of the deonymization of known and related nouns. The phenomenon of deonymization in the Uzbek language differs from deonymization in English in many cases on the basis of the referential basis for the formation of a name. That is, deonymized units in the Uzbek language are formed by means of signs reflecting the internal and external character traits of people and are mainly expressed in words in the category of adjectives. Consequently, similar and distinctive features of deonymization in the compared languages are revealed, conclusions are drawn regarding the comparative analysis of the evidence.
