Abstract

Abstract. The study involved 60 sick children with bronchial asthma (BA) aged 7-14 years in the period of exacerbation. Children, depending on the allergen - infectious and non-infectious - were divided into 2 groups: 25 children with BA on the background of a non-infectious allergen and 35 children with BA and an infectious allergen. The disease was diagnosed on the basis of a thoroughly collected allergic history and on the basis of the results of complex clinical and allergic, functional, laboratory and X-ray studies. Serum levels of IL-4, IL-8 and IFNγ were determined. It was found that AD more often develops against the background of an infectious allergen, in which an imbalance in the content of interferons is revealed - the level of IFNα is reduced, and IFNγ- is increased relative to the values of the control group. The level of proinflammatory cytokines (IL-1β, IL-6 and IL-8) in AD is increased in children, but the depth of changes depends on the allergen.
