Abstract
The treatment was based on keeping the wound open for the elimination of purulent discharge and the local application of ointments and other substances. The advent of anesthesia and the expansion of surgical procedures, aswell as the discovery of antibiotics, resulted in significant changes in the clinical and surgical treatments of osteomyelitis
