MODERN TACTICS OF TREATMENT OF ACUTE PARAPROCTITIS
Abstract
Purpose: To improve the results of surgical treatment of patients with acute paraproctitis. Methods: The article discusses the results of treatment in 746 operated patients in the proctology department of the clinic No. 1 of SamMI during 1, 2 and 3 years after surgery. Obtained results: After radical operations for paraproctitis with intrasphincteric and transsphincteric purulent course (608 cases 81.5%), there was no formation of fistulas. After operations for paraproctitis with extrasphincteric purulent course (138 cases 18.4%), in 8 cases (1.0%) a fistula was formed, in 5 cases (0.6%) there was a relapse of acute paraproctitis in the area of the postoperative scar. All patients with fistulas and acute paraproctitis were successfully operated on in our department. Conclusions: Treatment in a specialized department of patients with acute paraproctitis leads to their radical cure without turning into chronic paraproctitis. Whenever possible, surgery for acute paraproctitis should be performed by a surgeon trained in proctology. .
