Abstract

The paper reveals main features, priorities and trends in developing the new stage of strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and the US under President Sh. Mirzyioeev. During the last months, there is a dominating view in the world community that the United States are finally withdrawing from the Central Asian region. In contrast, the author considers that the current deepening and extending of the American-Uzbek relations indicate at preparation of a basis for a new stage of the bilateral relations, which could greatly influence on geopolitical and economic development of the Central Asian region. To prove this, the paper demonstrates main orientations of the bilateral relations, such as cooperation in the inner political and economic transformations, in security and humanitarian relations areas; changes in the US “soft” diplomacy, and the US move to more active, offensive policy in Uzbekistan, including within the “C5+1”.
