Abstract
Anticoagulant therapy is the standard for the prevention of thromboembolic complications (TEC) and, first of all, acute cerebrovascular accident (ACVA) in atrial fibrillation (AF). The combination of advanced chronic kidney disease (CKD) and AF leads to an even greater increase in the risk of TEO, but is also a risk factor for various bleeding. Clinical data on the use of new oral anticoagulants (NOACs) in this group of patients are limited, which determines the relevance of studies in comparison with vitamin K antagonists.
