<em>This article discusses the importance of developing their mathematical competence to improve the quality of education in higher education. The application of information technologies in solving practical problems and the formation of students' skills of independent work to obtain solutions based on them are studied. At the same time, the solution of mechanical problems using Mathcad and the analysis of the experimental results were studied using the Mathcad software system</em>
