Abstract

This article discusses the linguocognitive and national-cultural characteristics of the linguocultural concept "Magic" in French folk tales. The notion of “Magic” is associated with man's weakness in the face of the forces of nature in the early stages of his perception of the world, with his belief and imagination about the intervention of forces from other worlds in events that his mind could not explain. The constitutional characteristics of magic include the antiquity of its origin, that the human image is well interpreted in it, its relation to all aspects of the human personality, mainly with its emotions, fantasies and imaginations that belong to the sphere of the unconscious.
