Abstract
Comorbid depression and anxiety disorders occur in 25% of general practice patients. About 85% of patients with depression have significant anxiety, and 90% of patients with anxiety disorder have depression. Both depression and specific anxiety disorders require appropriate treatment. \nPsychological therapies such as cognitive-behavioral therapy and antidepressants, sometimes supplemented with antipsychotics, have proven beneficial in treating both depression and anxiety.
