Abstract
There are many approaches to teaching English, but the ideal method is hard to find. Many teachers note that the main thing is to choose effective methods that suit both the teacher and the students. Today, there are ardent adherents of the communicative approach that has become popular in recent years, there are conservatives who prefer the traditional grammar-translation method. The article discusses the strengths and weaknesses of both methods separately and compares these two given methods.
