Abstract

The article discusses the study of the notion of conceptual metaphor and its role in the development of Cognitive linguistics. This article also reviews the development of conceptual metaphor and three basic approaches to the study of metaphor. In addition, it has been discussed that the recent data suggesting conceptual metaphorical structures are not only conceptual areas, but also separate texts.
