Abstract

Abstract. The article presents the results of the classification of phraseological units with somatic components from the point of view of equivalence (based on the classification of phraseological units). The classification of PU with the components "hand” and "leg" in English and Russian suggests the need to define the term "equivalence". In the process of translating phraseological units, it is necessary to find such equivalent units based on which it is possible to create communicatively equivalent statements in two languages and which are found only in the course of theoretical research when comparing the originals with their translations. In this article, when comparing phraseological units of English and Russian, we consider the following types of inter-language relations- full equivalents, partial equivalents.
