Abstract

In most developed countries of the world, the legislature, identification of which, in the form of the highest representative body elected by the people, is the parliament, its activities are also facilitated by a number of institutions and officials, both directly located in and outside of the structure of its auxiliary bodies. The article provides an overview of what forms of assistance to the activities of the parliament, in general, are found in the practice ofsome foreign countries, in particular, the activities of their so-called research services, the possibility of attracting third-party research organizations, consultants for hire. In this respect, it is keen to discover the reviews of the research services of the US Congress, the House of Commons of Great Britain, and the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada given in the article
