CLASSIFICATION OF INDIRECT SPEECH ACTS EXPRESSED IN THE INTERROGATIVE FORM (BASED ON THE MATERIAL OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE)

Abstract

The article proposes a classification of indirect speech acts expressed in the form of a question. It is proposed to divide the analyzed material into five groups: questions with the meaning of reproach, suggestions (and advice), requests, invitations, as well as rhetorical questions. The main structural-semantic and communicative-pragmatic features of the selected groups are considered. An attempt has also been made to justify the use of some constructions within the group.
