CONCEPT AND IMPORTANCE OF JOINT INVESTIGATION TEAMS AS A TYPE OF LEGAL ASSISTANCE IN CRIMINAL CASES IN INTERNATIONAL LAW
Abstract
Abstract. The development of today's integration processes leads to the development of transnational crime in the international community. The development of this type of crime, in turn, leads to the development of types and means of cooperation between States. Cooperation in the fight against transnational crime was often limited to fulfilling requests for mutual legal assistance. The study of international cooperation in criminal matters shows that the execution of requests for legal assistance takes a long period of time, which leads to a delay in the preliminary investigation. Therefore, the need to create an effective system for combating transnational crime requires the development of new forms and methods of interaction, as well as continuous improvement of the legal framework for joint actions of law enforcement officers of various States. One of the new forms of such interaction is the conduct of investigations by joint investigation teams.
