Abstract

Abstract: The article enlightens the social-political, cultural-educational and literary life in Turkestan, which was in the vortex of the Tsarist Russia's invasion at the beginning of the second half of the 19th century. It is known that as a result of the invasion of the country by the invaders, the people of Turkestan became disorganized. Even in the Kashkadarya oasis, the oppression of the invaders was too much. The intellectuals, the eshons, the mullahs, the traders were put under pressure. The fact that the forces were not equal, as well as the fact that the officials of that time did not cooperate with each other, and that they acted in the manner of “May the hill I ascended be safe” created the ground for the realization of the invaders’ plan. The intellectuals, scientists and poets of that period expressed their thoughts and views about the Motherland and the terrible invasion in their works. One of such patriotic poets was Khayoliy. He admits the need for bravery and courage in the fight against the enemy on the way to the freedom of the Motherland in his poems and ghazals. The Motherland and its freedom are widely and deeply reflected in his works.
