Abstract

The article discusses the main causes of obstetric hemorrhage. Background diseases leading to them are described. Modern methods of treatment of massive hemorrhage are presented: drug, intermediate (mechanical), surgical. Effectiveness of hydroxyethyl starch preparations in comparison with other colloidal solutions is shown. The indications and contraindications for: red blood cell transfusion, total and subtotal hysterectomy are given.
