Abstract. This article presents an unsystematized review of the literature on the problem of bacterial coinfection in COVID-19 coronavirus infection. The article describes the processes that cause the development of a bacterial infection in acute respiratory viral infection. The most common pathogens that cause bacterial co-infection with various viruses that cause damage to the respiratory tract and lungs are summarized and presented. The results of foreign studies show that coronavirus infection through various mechanisms can increase the risk of developing bacterial coinfection and requires further study.
