Abstract

This article describes the collectivization policy pursued by the former Soviet government in the 1930s, its causes and socio-economic consequences, as well as the protests of the population of Uzbekistan against this policy on the example of the Samarkand region. In particular, the impact of the collectivization policy on the standard of living in Uzbekistan, the tragic situation in agriculture, especially in animal husbandry, the reasons for the protests of the peasant masses against this policy and the repressive policy of the Soviet government in response are analyzed.
