Abstract
Abstract: The article explores the strategic issues arising from the U.S. involvement in the conflict in Afghanistan. The role of the U.S. President George W. Bush in this conflict is assessed. Special attention is paid to the extent to which the strategic tasks set by the President were achieved as a result of military operations in Afghanistan.
