THEMATIC-SEMANTIC ANALYSIS OF NUMEROLOGICAL PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS
Abstract
The article provides a thematic-semantic classification of phraseological units with the component denoting "numeral" on the material of the English and Uzbek languages. Phraseological units with the "numeral" component are interpreted as nationally-culturally marked language units, reflecting in their semantics the national culture of a certain linguoculture. As a result of the analysis, ten thematic-semantic groups of phraseological units with the component "numeral" were identified, some of them being universal for both languages and some of them being nationally specific for the English language. National-cultural specifics of phraseological units is found in phraseological units: 1) having no equivalents in one of the studied languages; 2) containing national realia; 3) containing notions related to historical, socio-political, religious events and facts; 4) representing certain cultural values of a particular linguoculture.
