FROM THE HISTORY OF THE AMUDARYA WATERWAY AT THE BEGINNING OF THE 20TH CENTURY

Abstract

The article deals with the history of the Amudarya waterway at the beginning of the 20th century, in particular, in Karakalpakstan, the information related to the flotilla, that is, the transportation of goods by waterway, and the work carried out in this regard. Commodity-money relations grew in the country, capitalist relations began to take shape. In order to open an additional sales channel for the metropolis and its products, the tsarist government carried out a number of measures in the field of land and water use, which created objective conditions for the development of a commodity base, agriculture and the influx of Russian capital into Karakalpakstan.
