Abstract

This article provides a complete analysis of the stages of establishment and development of the institution of constitutional control in Uzbekistan. The author notes that the development of constitutional justice in our country can be studied in four stages. The issues of constitutional justice in our country are a relatively new and developing direction in the national legal system, there are some peculiarities in the development of the new direction, the need to strengthen the institution of constitutional control and improve the implementation mechanisms. In the first stage, the powers of the Constitutional Review Committee are analyzed on the basis of the relevant legislation. At this stage, the constitutional review body was not fully independent and its activities did not meet international standards in the field of constitutional review. In the second phase, despite a number of reforms in the field of constitutional review based on international standards, the role of this body in ensuring human rights and freedoms was weak. In the third stage, there was a period of significant and radical changes in the activities of the Constitutional Court. This period is significant with the introduction of the institution of constitutional appeal. Analyzing the current legislation, the author identifies priorities in the activities of this body that need to be improved.
