Abstract

In William Faulkner's "A Rose for Emily," the protagonist Miss Emily represents the dark aspects of relationships influenced by the Southern Gothic era. Living in a state of denial and isolation, Miss Emily clings to the past, committing a heinous crime to maintain love and evade loss. This analysis explores the reasons behind her drastic actions, emphasizing the Southern Gothic elements present in the narrative.
