Abstract

<em>This article focuses on the topic of parenting in modern adolescent literature. The authors consider the problem of the relationship between parents and children in the example of Mark Heddon's "Mysterious killing of a dog at night" and prove that adults have a high level of responsibility in families with separate children, because he includes many psychological and social problems that go beyond family relationships. Addressing M. Haddon not only gives a new perspective on the lives of children with special needs, but also allows them to understand what challenges their parents have to overcome, and how ready they are to change and accept the situation.</em>
