Abstract

When more than 40 young men from Surkhandarya were drafted into the Arctic Ocean in Russia's Arkhangelsk region, both military commanders and young soldiers from other republics were surprised to hear that we were from Termez. Many have only heard of Tashkent, but thanks to Eldor Shomurodov, who plays for Italian Serie A club Roma, today foreigners have realized that not only Termez, but also Jarkurgan district in Surkhandarya. The saying "one of the ways to introduce the country to the world is sports" is proving to be true.
