Abstract

In this paper, the effect of thermocyclic processing regimes on carbon tool steels used in cold stamping tools is considered. Thermocyclic processing (TCP) is based on the idea of repeated heating-cooling of steels at a temperature different from conventional heating. In this case, the values of temperature at high and low levels, the heating-cooling rate can be constant. Unlike traditional methods, in thermocyclic processing, each successive cycle occurs with a new structure and phase change. This makes it possible to significantly increase the properties of steel that cannot be achieved with conventional heat treatment due to the combination of different properties that are formed after the final cycle of thermocycling.
