Abstract

<em>Chronic heart failure (CHF) is an important cardiovascular disease due to its increasing prevalence, significant morbidity, high mortality and rapidly growing health care costs. The number of patients with heart failure is increasing worldwide. Over the past four decades, significant advances have been made in the definition, methods of diagnosis and treatment of heart failure (HF).</em>
