Abstract
The article reveals a complex economic and social problem as unemployment. The Soviet government faced this problem in Uzbekistan from the very first days of its existence. The author of the article made an attempt to analyze this phenomenon, to show the dynamics of unemployment growth in the republic, and also to show what steps the Soviet government took in the Uzbek Republic to eliminate it. Based on the results of the study, the author of the article concluded that the slogans of the Soviet government about the complete elimination of unemployment by the beginning of the 30 years of the XX century., that’s correspond to reality, because for a still long subsequent period, there remained serious causes that gave rise to this phenomenon.
