Damping of longitudinal vibrations of a cylindrical rod single-mass damper
Abstract
The vibration of a cylindrical rod located in an infinite medium is considered, and the vibration of the rod is damped with the help of a single-mass dynamic vibration damper. The bar is acted upon by harmonic forces located along the longitudinal axis of the bar in a certain sequence. The possibility of decreasing the vibration amplitude of the rod in the resonance zone using a single-mass damper is considered. Optimization of the damper parameters for different values of environmental parameters has been made. The quality criterion is the maximum ordinate of the amplitude-frequency characteristic. When considering the damping of vibrations of a bar, the inelastic properties of the bar are taken into account. It was found that using a single-mass damper gives rather high efficiency for damping the first mode of vibration of the rod.
