Abstract

Remote system management is usually carried out according to the client–server model. However, the security and flexibility constraints resulting from the use of a predictable port for such a critical application hinder agreement between authentication reliability and service continuity. We will show an alternative solution based on an additional system located between the remote server and its administrator. The role of the new component in our project does not weaken pre-existing security mechanisms, but instead can strengthen them and provide a very effective exchange between the server and its visible control ports.
