Abstract
This article examines the role of the forebrain, specifically the cortex, in controlling facial expressions. The author discuss the neural circuits involved in facial expression and the ways in which cortical activity can modulate these circuits. He also review studies that have investigated the effects of functional changes in the forebrain on facial muscle movements, such as those related to emotion regulation and social behavior. Overall, the article provides insight into the complex interplay between the forebrain and facial expressions, highlighting the importance of understanding the neural mechanisms underlying these processes.
