Abstract
The article analyzes the activities of research expeditions organized by the Soviet government in Central Asia, especially in Uzbekistan, in order to study healing places and lakes, according to historical literature and archival sources. Also, the conclusions of scientific expeditions organized by the Institute of Physiotherapy and Balneology named after A. N.A. Semashko, medical places and some of their properties were investigated. At the same time, the article reveals that the sanatoriums-resorts in Uzbekistan, created by the Soviet government, were not limited to treating the population and creating health conditions for them, but also organized scientific expeditions to the regions to develop this area.
