Abstract

This article highlights the issues of the history of the school education system in Bukhara (the end of the 19th century - the 80s of the 20th century). In the Emirate of Bukhara, traditional schools, Tatar schools, Russian-native schools, schools of the Russian system, as well as the Bukhara People's Soviet Republic and school issues in the Soviet period are covered in detail. During this period, issues of school buildings, supplies, lessons and textbooks, salaries and allowances of teachers, financial situation and support for teachers and students are described. Information is provided on classes, subjects and sciences taught, and examination procedures. The article presents the views of enlightened contemporaries on school issues. The Decree of Amir Olimkhan on education is analyzed. Information is given about the enlightened ones who opened the schools of the new method. The issues of reforming school education are comprehensively covered.
