Abstract

This paper presents clinical data on the examination and treatment of 77 children with hemorrhoids over the past 10 years. The author investigated the features of diagnosis and tactics of complex treatment of hemorrhoids in children. The main causes of hemorrhoids in children were: persistent constipation - 51.9% of patients; increased diarrhea with frequent urges - in 14.3%; prolonged sitting and straining (two-stage act of defecation) - in 11.7%; stress in sports - 9%; tense and continuous cough - in 6.5%; difficulty urinating - in 6.5%, etc. Conservative treatment was more effective for children with hemorrhoids up to 3 years. As a result of conservative treatment, good results were achieved in 70.2% of children, unsatisfactory (relapses) - in 5.5%. Surgical treatment was used in cases where conservative treatment failed in 10 (13%) children. Indications for hemorrhoidectomy were: frequent prolapse and pinching of hemorrhoids (HU). After surgical treatment, good results were obtained in all cases, no relapses were observed. Thanks to the optimization of conservative and surgical treatment, taking into account the age characteristics of children, good results were achieved.
