In the second half of the 19th century -the beginning of the 20th century, in order to end the opposition and resistance movements dissatisfied with the colonial system, and to prevent popular movements from spreading to the territory of the Turkestan General Governorate, the troops of the Turkestan military district constantly interfered in the political processes in the Bukhara Emirate and sent many military units to their placed in the area. The presence of the colonial armed forces in the territory of the emirate led to the fact that the independence of this state in internal politics became a relative concept.
