Abstract

The unorganized public transportation system wastes time and money, causing some passengers to miss their destination and potentially lose their jobs. In this work, we have presented a novel strategy to find the shortest route for public transportation, thereby resolving this issue and saving time and money. Additionally, we have discussed the importance of prioritizing passengers and maintaining social distance during commutes, which has been a direct consequence of the COVID-19 epidemic. Additionally, we have discussed the need to restore the functionality of public transport services to their pre-pandemic levels. The global nature of the COVID-19 pandemic makes public transportation too dangerous without an appropriate system to maintain social distancing. Therefore, to address this issue, we have devised a plan to develop a smart application. This application will perform the following functions: it will schedule the times when public transportation is available to prevent overcrowding; it will show users the shortest route to arrive at their preferred location; it will provide clear instructions; and it will display the locations of nearby hospitals in case of an emergency. Our method will identify the shortest path between the source and the destination, reserve seats based on social distancing, and alert users in the event of any mismanagement.
