Abstract

The inclusive production of the charm-strange baryon <a:math xmlns:a="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><a:msubsup><a:mi mathvariant="normal">Ω</a:mi><a:mi mathvariant="normal">c</a:mi><a:mn>0</a:mn></a:msubsup></a:math> is measured for the first time via its semileptonic decay into <e:math xmlns:e="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><e:msup><e:mi mathvariant="normal">Ω</e:mi><e:mo>−</e:mo></e:msup><e:msup><e:mi mathvariant="normal">e</e:mi><e:mo>+</e:mo></e:msup><e:msub><e:mi>ν</e:mi><e:mi mathvariant="normal">e</e:mi></e:msub></e:math> at midrapidity (<j:math xmlns:j="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><j:mo stretchy="false">|</j:mo><j:mi>y</j:mi><j:mo stretchy="false">|</j:mo><j:mo>&lt;</j:mo><j:mn>0.8</j:mn></j:math>) in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the center-of-mass energy <n:math xmlns:n="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><n:msqrt><n:mi>s</n:mi></n:msqrt><n:mo>=</n:mo><n:mn>13</n:mn><n:mtext> </n:mtext><n:mtext> </n:mtext><n:mi>TeV</n:mi></n:math> with the ALICE detector at the LHC. The transverse momentum (<p:math xmlns:p="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><p:msub><p:mi>p</p:mi><p:mi mathvariant="normal">T</p:mi></p:msub></p:math>) differential cross section multiplied by the branching ratio is presented in the interval <s:math xmlns:s="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" display="inline"><s:mn>2</s:mn><s:mo>&lt;</s:mo><s:msub><s:mi>p</s:mi><s:mi mathvariant="normal">T</s:mi></s:msub><s:mo>&lt;</s:mo><s:mn>12</s:mn><s:mtext> </s:mtext><s:mtext> </s:mtext><s:mi>GeV</s:mi><s:mo>/</s:mo><s:mi>c</s:mi></s:math>.
