Abstract
The Spalart-Allmaras (SA) turbulence models applied to the calculation of swirling flows inside a separator was studied. Two approaches using vorticity and flow function to eliminate pressure and a semi-implicit method for pressure-linked equations (SIMPLE) for solving Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations were compared in the article. For the numerical solution of both approaches, the implicit method against the flow was used.
