Abstract
An increase in the number of vehicles, as well as an increase in speed and traffic intensity, make the problem of road safety even more topical issue. The main indicator of good adhesion of the wheel to the road surface is the adhesion coefficient, which affects the stability and handling of the car. The article examines the conditions that affect the value of the coefficient of adhesion of tires to the road surface. The studies were conducted with a variety of vehicles with and without an antiblock braking system (ABS), as well as for summer and winter tires on dry and wet asphalt and concrete surfaces.
