Abstract

A mathematical model based on classical laws of dynamics in the form of systems of ordinary differential equations and software tools for studying the process of separating bulk mixtures on a pneumatic separator has been developed. The mathematical model is solved numerically using the finite difference method. Using the developed mathematical model, it is possible to determine the speed of movement and flight of the trajectory of particles, taking into account the direction of the air flow. A series of computational experiments were carried out on a computer based on the developed mathematical model. The results of computational experiments are presented in the form of graphs. It had been found that at different values of the air flow angle, it played an essential role in the process of separating and sorting bulk materials. With an increase in the air flow angle, the dispersion of the particle flight path had also increased. Experimental studies had revealed an increase in the pneumatic separation effect during the division of grain mixtures due to the influence.
