Abstract

Higher education with the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a paradigm shift, which will reform pedagogical approaches and revolutionize administrative processes. This paper discusses the transformative effect that AI is likely to have on pedagogy and administration in institutions of higher learning, and its main purpose will be to shed light on opportunities and challenges that arise from this technological revolution. The pedagogical dimension outlines AI technologies that disrupt the traditional classroom and provide learning experiences that are customized to each student’s requirements. The analysis of student data by AI helps personalize content and interventions, leading to higher levels of learning engagement and thus improvements in academic performance. Besides, AI-equipped learning platforms go ahead to assist students in interactive and immersive experiences while learning. For instance, they use AR (Artificial Reality) in VR (Virtual Reality) artificial reality and AR to mimic real-life scenarios in which learners interact with and actualize skills learned in the real world. In addition, the AI algorithms allow the environment of automation of administrative functions, including admissions and enrollments, management systems, academic advisement, among others. Machinelearning and natural language processing-powered AI systems can assist in administering the efficient, fast, and data-driven decision-making process by helping process and get actionable insights from huge loads of data. In addition, the AI chatbots serve as virtual assistants for students and faculty to assist in prompt responses to the inquiries and getting required information, hence improving the efficiency of administrative activities.
