Digital Transformation and Market Competition in Banking An Econometric Analysis of ROE Influencers in Uzbekistan
Abstract
This study examines the impact of economic and digital variables on the return on equity (ROE) of commercial banks in Uzbekistan. Using data from 2018 to 2024, the analysis uses a multiple linear regression model to assess the key factors affecting ROE, including lending volume, digital banking services, deposit volume, inflation rate, and non-performing loans. The results show that lending volume and digital banking services have a positive impact on ROE, while high inflation and non-performing loans have a negative impact on profitability. The results indicate that digital banking services improve operational efficiency and competitiveness, while macroeconomic challenges continue to affect banks' performance.
