Abstract

"The article examines the consequences of the Cultural Revolution, which were reflected in all spheres of life in the PRC. The Cultural Revolution in the PRC lasted from 1966 to 1976. This decade largely determined the future of modern China as a world power with a strong economy, although the events of the Cultural Revolution still cause a lot of controversy in the scientific world. The “Cultural Revolution” caused colossal material and moral damage to the entire Chinese society, after which the country’s economy was on the verge of collapse. The course towards creating a “great and powerful China” was carried out through militarization, building up military-economic potential, and strengthening the military-bureaucratic dictatorship. Many scholars view this time as a tragic period for the Chinese people, but one cannot help but admit that without the Cultural Revolution there would not have been a “Chinese economic miracle.”"
