Abstract
In rural areas, solid waste management presents unique challenges that often lead to environmental degradation and public health issues. The scarcity of resources and infrastructure in these regions exacerbates the problem, making effective waste management solutions crucial. This paper examines innovative strategies employed for waste management in puri, Odisha. By focusing on sustainable practices, the study highlights how waste management solutions can be adopted to enhance the environmental sustainability. By setting up local recycling centres and providing training on sorting and processing recyclable materials, rural communities can create local jobs and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. The study highlights the development of new technologies, circular new economy, sustainable practices for waste reduction and community engagement.
