Abstract

Innovative safety measures must be developed in light of the growing risks of drunk driving and dangerous workplaces caused by alcohol use. In order to improve user safety during high-risk activities like motorcycling and construction, this project suggests an Internet of Things-enabled helmet that is integrated with an alcohol detection system and an alarm mechanism. An alcohol sensor (MQ-3) included into the helmet can identify whether alcohol is present in the ambient air. A buzzer alerts the wearer when the sensor detects alcohol levels above a predetermined threshold, averting potentially hazardous circumstances brought on by impaired judgment. Furthermore, a proactive approach to safety is provided by the integration of the alarm mechanism, real-time communication, and alcohol detection system, which lowers the possibility of incidents involving alcohol impairment. The project intends to show that it is feasible to use easily available and reasonably priced sensors and microcontrollers to enhance personal safety in daily life, especially in settings where drinking alcohol could have detrimental effects. It measures the concentration of alcohol in the air detects its presence. The wearer is alerted by a buzzer if the alcohol content rises above a predetermined threshold.
