Abstract

The inclusion of students with blindness or low vision (BLV) in science education remains a challenge due to the reliance on predominantly visual resources. This communication aims to present improvement of the tool for teaching chemical element ordering for BLV students. The research was conducted under the Design-Based Research (DBR) methodology, allowing iterative improvement of the proposed tool. Experimental activities were conducted in this research with students and experts from the Spanish National Organization for the Blind (ONCE), specifically from the ONCE Barcelona Educational Resource Center. The findings underline the potential of digital fabrication to close accessibility gaps in chemistry education, promoting a more equitable learning environment for students with BLV.
